Apple Nutmeg Conserve


      From Better Homes & Gardens Canning & Preserving

      5 cups chopped and peeled apples
      1 cup water
      1/3 cup lemon juice
      1 pkg regular powdered fruit pectin
      4 cups sugar
      1 cup light raisins
      1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

      In a large dutch oven combine apples, water and lemon juice. Bring to boil, cover and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in pectin
      and bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar and raisins. Boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove
      from heat and stir in nutmeg. Ladle into hot sterilized half-pint jars, leaving 1/4" headspace. Wipe rims, affix hot lids and
      process in BWB for five minutes. Makes six half-pints.
