My Grandmothers custard recipe!
This is a wonderful comfort food recipe that i love to make (not suitable for canning!). Beat 3 eggs thoughly-add 1 quart milk-3/4 cup of sugar and 2 teasp.vanilla and beat all ingredients until well mixed. Pour into custard cups or baking dish and set dish or cups in another pan that has about 1/4 inch of water in it.Sprinkle top of custard with nutmeg. Bake in 350 about an hour,until knife inserted into custard comes out clean.Remove from oven to cool,eat warm or cold. Makes 8 full custard cups. Enjoy-Susan-NJ
